Student Counselling in Kelowna
Covered by Your Student Health Plan
Counselling for University Students
We’re located in the Landmark District, 15 minutes from UBCO.
-
We're open to 7 days a week, with morning- evening availability. You don't have to skip a lecture or a shift to get here.
-
Sessions run 30, 50, or 75 minutes — in our landmark district office, over video, or as a walk and talk if sitting across from someone in an office feels like a lot.
What Students Bring To Sessions
Academic stress and burnout
Not being able to start the assignment you've had three weeks for. Working constantly and still feeling behind. Losing interest in a program you used to care about.
Anxiety
Presentation dread, exam spirals, the 2am replay of a conversation from Tuesday, a body that won't settle even when nothing is technically wrong.
Perfectionism and self-expectation
Where a good grade feels like relief instead of pride, and anything less feels like evidence about you as a person.
Student athletes
We offer practical tools and techniques to help you effectively manage stress and restore balance in your life. Our holistic approach addresses the root causes of stress, promoting overall well-being and peace of mind.
Questions students ask
-
Yes! Although we still recommend reviewing your student care coverage:
-
Nope! We work with students all over BC. However, we are most familiar with UBCO student benefit plans. We recommend reviewing your school’s coverage for counselling.
-
Absolutely! We use the JaneApp platform to ensure all video calls are safe and secure.
-
Absolutely. We believe that finding the right counsellor is one of the most important parts of therapy. If you don’t feel that your counsellor is the right fit for you, we’re always happy to help you explore other options—whether that’s another therapist on our team or someone we trust in the community. There’s no pressure or judgment; our priority is making sure you feel comfortable, supported, and confident in the therapeutic relationship.
-
Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and begin understanding what brings you to therapy. We’ll talk about what you’re hoping to work on, what you’ve been experiencing, and what you’d like support with.
You don’t need to have everything figured out before you come in, and you won’t be expected to tell us your entire story right away. We’ll go at a pace that feels comfortable for you and make space for questions, conversation, and connection.
We’ll also talk about how we work and what you can expect from therapy moving forward. Most importantly, your first session is an opportunity to see how it feels to work together—we want you to feel safe, comfortable, and like you’ve found the right fit.
If you're exploring counselling options, we welcome you to reach out. We offer free 15-minute consultations so we can discuss our approach to therapy, the counselling process, and answer any questions you may have.
